"On Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 1:01 an earthquake was recorded in Costa Rica.  The location was 21 S. of Puntarenas, and 51 miles west south west of San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica. The exact location is 9.654°N, 84.788°W in the Gulf of Nicoya between Playa Herradura and Tambor on the Nicoya Penninsula.

Seismologists at the U.S. Geological Survey are reporting the quake was measured at a magnitude of 5.4.

In Nuevo Arenal, approximately 50 miles north of the epicenter, the author felt the floor shake.  However, no damage occurred in this area.
